5-Ingredient Breakfast BARS with FREE Mix!
These are DELICIOUS and backed with protein. If I am going to eat breakfast (some days I do fast) it’s going to be REAL food not a “breakfast bar” of carbs and nuts. That is not sustance for me personally.
These breakfast bars not only have 12 grams of protein (not from nuts), it’s also high in fat that will keep you full! This recipe is a great way to try my FREE PARMESAN Mix (see this post for more details)….
Grain-Free Snickerdoodle Cookies
These cookies are Easy and Delicious, sure to impress even your sugar & grain-loving friends! 🙂 I use a different method (I don’t roll the dough balls in cinnamon but actually add the cinnamon to the dough), but I know you are going to love them. Want to make these nut-free? Just use raw ground…

Shamrock Cupcakes (Nut-Free)
Science Rules & Green Foods are Cool Cooking is all about taste and science! It’s pretty amazing how combining a few simple ingredients can create such flavorful dishes. This couldn’t happen without a little (or a lot of) science! By now I am sure everyone knows that baking soda or sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) reacts with an…

No matter what time of year it is I LOVE ice cream, and I make it often! This Gelato was a delicious twist on tradition ice cream, and was the PERFECT accompaniment to my World’s Best Chocolate Cake that I made for my youngest son’s first birthday. Really, I could eat this cake & gelato…
Cinnamon Raisin Soda Bread
When I gave up grains over two years ago I also gave up Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel Bread. I am pretty excited to now enjoy a slice of grain-free cinnamon raisin bread without creating the sugar spikes and the insatiable appetite I would get after eating the grain-filled version. Stay tuned for an upcoming post about…

Grain-Free Irish Soda Bread
Some of my favorite types of recipes to recreate are comfort foods. Foods that bring back childhood memories, or tell a story about tradition and one’s heritage. Foods that you remember how they tasted and smelled, even though it’s been YEARS since you have eaten them. Foods that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside just thinking…

I can’t believe that my baby boy, Connor, will be 1 in just a few weeks! It seems like only yesterday that Hunter turned one and really it was… he will be 3 in May! WOW! Having small children is more challenging and stressful than any job I have ever had, but there are so…
Bacon-Apple Pie Bites
One word…BACON!! LOL I know that sometimes food bloggers can go a little extreme when it comes to bacon but I personally think too much bacon is nearly impossible! Bacon is of course good with eggs, green beans, asparagus, beef, chicken, and pretty much any other veggy and meat. But did you know that it’s…
Grain-Free & Healthy Eating on a Budget
(Taken from my new cookbook, Comforting Eats.) So many people think that they can’t eat healthy on a budget. This is not true. You will actually spend more money on “filler” foods such as grains than if you purchased real food choices. Grains like pasta, bread and rice MAY fill you up for a short time (actually leaving…

My FAVORITE meal when we go out to eat is Fajitas! How can you go wrong with steak (I usually get both chicken and steak), veggies, guacamole, sour cream and cheese! Of course I pass on the corn chips and tortillas but you don’t need those things when you have all of this goodness on…
Fast Food: Chicken Tenders & Honey Mustard with Sweet Potato Fries
These tenders and fries are really good. My husband and I enjoyed them just as much as the boys did. Why do kids (and adults) LOVE fast food fries and chicken so much??? Because they taste good, that’s why! Kids like traditional fast food chicken and potatoes for the flavor. While some parents tend to…
All Things CHOCOLATE!
I think chocolate is a universal language. Sure, some people don’t like it, but let’s be honest…those folks are just WEIRD (like my husband)! He really does like chocolate, but just the kind that really doesn’t have much chocolate in it at all! My theory as to why almost EVERYONE LOVES chocolate is that…
NO-Bake Carrot Souffle
The age-old question… Is Piccadilly’s famous Carrot Souffle a dessert or a side?? Honestly, I never really ordered it because I always considered it a dessert. Most of the time when I went out to eat, I didn’t get dessert because of all the sugar, but that never stopped me from getting a pasta dish…

Super Bowl Recipes
I have a confession… I could care less about football! Yes, I live in Louisiana and EVERYONE is CRAZY about football, but it is just not my thing. Luckily I married someone who shares my lack of passion so we are a match made in Heaven! Just because I don’t like football doesn’t mean I…
