Sorry I skipped a day posting a recipe. We are trying to finish up renovating a house we bought over a year ago. Almost there! The kitchen is grand, I am a happy woman! Pictures to come.
Just because I didn’t have a lot of time to cook, or for that matter all of the right tools (the gas is still not hooked up to the stove at new house) doesn’t mean I couldn’t eat a sugar free and grain free meal!
This is very kid friendly and husband friendly too! Make it fun!
The No Recipe, Recipe for My Tacoless Salad
2 pound ground beef
6 tablespoons homemade Taco seasoning (see below for recipe. If using store bought, find one without MSG)
Lettuce/spinach (if in rush, precut in the bag works great)
Cheese (again, if in a rush, pre-shredded is fine)
Sour Cream
Salsa
Avocado
Lime wedges
Olives
Jalapenos slices
- Brown meat in pan. Add taco seasonings and 1/2 cup of water.
- Prepare lettuce, cheese and other toppings for salad. Slice avacado and squeeze lime juice on it to help prevent browning (and it taste good).
- Assemble: Lettuce, lots of meat, cheese, sour cream, salsa and avacado on the side.
Perfect! I took out a pack of ground beef to defrost and had no idea what to do with it. I just made this and the taco seasoning. Super easy and delicious!
